Features of the profession
The main task of the entire soccer team is to score as many goals as possible in the opponent’s goal. But each player has his own specific responsibilities. A soccer team consists of a goalkeeper, forwards and defenders. The following tactical scheme of competition is common in modern soccer: 4-4-2-1, which means 4 defenders, 4 midfielders, 2 forwards, and 1 goalkeeper. Accordingly, each player has an individual task assigned to him.
The defender plays the defensive role:
creates obstacles to attacking opponents;
Assists his teammates in attacking if necessary;
Backs up his teammates;
Handles the ball.
The midfielder is in an intermediate position between offense and defense. He is a midfielder and helps the defenders or the strikers depending on the situation. Midfielders are divided into categories according to their position on the field:
Central midfielder, who creates goal situations in the game;
Supporting midfielder helps the central midfielder in defense by interrupting the opponent’s ball passes, protecting the flank defenders (Gilberto Silva);
A playmaker (from play and maker) organizes the attack of his team (Josep Guardiola, Xabi Alonso);
attacking midfielder creates scoring chances for the attackers and can score goals himself (Pele, Michel Platini);
A box-to-box midfielder who plays both defensive and offensive roles, moving all over the field (Brian Robson);
An extreme midfielder acts near the touchline, protecting his playing area from the opposing team’s extreme and supporting midfielders (Cristiano Ronaldo, Garrincha).
The striker is an attacking player whose goal is to score as many goals as possible.
Forwards are also divided into categories:
Central striker (center-forward) solves the main task – to score a goal in the opponent’s goal; they act near the penalty line (Ronaldo);
Winger (winger) works on the attacking flank, instantly passing the ball on the flank and passing it;
The winger is between the centre-forward and the winger on the outside;
The drawn striker acts between the strikers and the midfield, serving both offensive and defensive functions (Diego Maradona, Lionel Messi);
The false nine is a striker on the center-forward line, but is not meant to score goals, but to lead the opposing team’s defenders aside, making space for the center-forward.
The goalkeeper defends the goal and does not allow the opposing team to score a goal. Acts on the goalkeeper’s pad near the goal. During the game he uses such game tricks as fixing the ball, kicking or knocking the ball away after impact, intercepting the ball.
But the main thing in the game and the key to victory is smooth interaction and understanding of all players, the ability to cooperate competently on the field, in a single burst to seek victory.
All of this applies to the duties of players during the match (competition). But the main preparatory work is done before the competition and the duties of each player include:
Daily training;
compliance with the regime;
Regular medical check-up;
participation in the work of their soccer club.
