Newly appointed Chairman of Kano Pillars Football Club, Alhaji Surajo Shu’aibu Yahaya has vowed to take the club to the next level of achievement.
The Chairman, while speaking to www.kano-pillars.com on Tuesday in Kano has promised to work without resting until he lead the Sai Masu Gida to the coveted CAF Champions League title this campaign.
He described his appointment as God giving and thanked the Executive Governor of Kano State, His Excellency Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for finding him worthy and has also called on the previous Chairmen to join hands with him in actualising the dreams of the club’s teeming fans.
Being previously part and parcel of the fans club, the chairman urged the fans to shun all sort of violence that would be of great effect to the club and therefore called on them to be of good conduct before, during and after every match days.
Alhaji Surajo said that his ultimate target is to take Pillars to the final of the upcoming CAF Champions League and winning it at the end for the fans.
“The first time we played at the continent, we reach up to the semi finals and this time around, the trophy is the final negotiation, Surajo added
The Sai Masu Gida will begin their 2019/2020 CAF Champions League campaign against Asanti Kotoko of Ghana on Sunday 10th August 2019 at the magnificent Sani Abacha Stadium before traveling to Ghana for a return leg clash a forthnight.
Kano Pillars finished second during the 2018/2019 Nigeria Professional Football League and were on Sunday crowned as the Champions of this year’s NFF/Aiteo Cup, after beating Niger Tornadoes of Minna on penalties in the final.
