Kano Pillars FC thrashed Giwa FC from Kaduna state by five goals to two in a pre season warmup match played today, Saturday 20th September, 2019 at the famous Sani Abacha stadium, Kofar Mata Kano.

Forward, Nwagua Nyima put the Sai Masu Gida ahead in the 5th minute of play before Ashiru Alhassan of Giwa level the score in the 10th minute of the encounter.

Musa Ahmad revived the hope of the Aiteo Cup Champions with a brace in the 24th and 70th minutes respectively while Captain, Rabi’u Ali and Auwalu Ali Malam scored a goal apiece in the either side of the encounter that stretched the scoreline to five for Pillars.

Giwa FC striker, lbrahim Lawan reduced the tally to 5-2 with a powerful volley inside the box at 72nd minute.

At the end of the game, Chairman of Kano Pillars FC, Alhaji Surajo Sha’aibu Yahya said the pre season friendly is part of the club preparation for the forthcoming 2019/2020 Npfl season.

He said more friendlies would be organized with club sides from within and outside Kano in order to give the newly recruited players the chance to blend with the rest of the players before the commencement of the league.

Newly recruited player by the four times NPFL Champions, Kelly Kester signed from Lobi Stars FC who played the entire duration of the game is a player of discussion among Pillars fans that watched the match.

They expressed confidence that Kelly Kester will play a vital role for the club ahead of the up coming seseason.
