Kano Pillars FC thrashed Nigeria National League side, Green Beret FC of Zaria by three goals to nil in their latest warm up game played today Tuesday, 29th October, 2019 at the township stadium, popularly refers to as ‘Ranchers Bees stadium’ Kaduna.
Right back, Ifeanyi Nweke opened the scoring in the 23th minute of play with a Hollywood shot from just outside the box.
Auwalu Ali Malam extended Pillars tally in the 71st minute and added a third goal and a brace for him on the evening in the 80th minute of play.
The Nigeria Giants are in Kaduna for a one week closed camping ahead of the 2019/2020 NPFL Season in which they would open their campaign at home to Rivers United on Sunday, 3rd November, 2019.
Speaking shortly after the match, Technical Adviser of the club, Ibrahim A. Musa has said that the friendlies will help in sharpening the team before the kickoff of the league on Sunday.
He thanked the Management of the club and the state Government for given them the opportunity to camp in Kaduna and assured that they would not disappoint when the league gets underway.
“With what we are doing here, I’m confident the players are more determined than ever to do well this season, Ibrahim Musa added.
He said, they will have another test on Thursday against Niger Tornadoes FC and the game would be played at the Ahmad Bello stadium, Kaduna.
