Kano Pillars FC failed to reach the final of the maiden edition of Governor Dapo Abiodun preseason tournament holding in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun state by losing one nil to Delta force FC on Sunday.
The Sai Masu Gida conceded late on the 79th minute of the game after a defensive error by the defenders of the Aiteo Cup Champions.
In a post match press conference, Pillars technical adviser, Ibrahim A. Musa said the club lacked the fire power off front that can score goals in whanever situation.
Coach Ibrahim said it is good that the club participated in the tournament which help him identify the areas that needs urgent attention ahead of the kickoff of the 2019/2020 Nigeria Professional Football League Season.
“We supposed to scored as many goals today considering the chances we created, Coach Ibrahim said.
He emphasized that it is necessary for the club to get a striker that would properly replace Junior Lokosa who left the four time champions two seasons ago.
He maintain that been the Aiteo Cup champions and runners up in the 2018/2019 npfl season, it is necessary for them to tightening their belts to ensure that the club ended the upcoming 2019/2020 NPFL season as champions.
On his part, the chairman of the club Alhaji Surajo Shaaibu Yahaya charged the technical crew to wake up and correct their mistakes.
The Chairman said the management would not interfere in the work of the technical crew but directed them to take measures that would help them solve the problems as soon as possible.
The Sai Masu Gida would depart Ijebu-Ode tomorrow, Monday 30th September, 2019 to the Pyramid City for the preparation of yet another preseason organized by Kano state FA Chairman/NFF Board Member, Dr. Sharif Rabiu Inuwa Ahlan tagged ‘Ahlan Cup’ which is expected to commence on the 6th October, 2019, in Kano.
