Kano Pillars FC were on Wednesday thrashed visiting Jigawa Golden Stars FC of Dutse by 2-0 in a Match Day 8 of the 2020/21 Nigeria Professional Football League season played at the Ahmadu Bello stadium Kaduna.
Sai Masu Gida’s powerful defender, Ndassi Kadiang, scored both goals in the 11th and 17th minutes respectively with assists for the goals coming from Victor Dennis and Auwalu Ali Malam.
The national champions capitalized on the defensive mixed-up by the Jigawa Golden Stars backline as they failed to clear each of the corner kicks that resulted for the goals.
In his post match press conference, technical adviser of Kano Pillars FC, Mr. Emmanuel Lionel Soccoia has thumbed up his players for a job well done and for utilizing their chances early in the game.
The French tactician said in the first half, his players played very well but their performance in the second stanza dropped down largely due to fatigue caused by the long journey by road from Uyo to Kaduna.
“I’m happy for the win and my target always is to win every match,” Mr. Lionel said.
On the Match Day 9 fixture away to Ifeanyi Ubah on Sunday…… The former FC Leopard’s coach said, Ifeanyi Ubah is a big fixture but with the caliber of players at his disposal, he is confident his boys will gets a good result.
In another development, goal scorer of the match, Ndassi Kadiang of Kano Pillars has been voted as the Man of the Match by the member of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, whom were at the stadium for the match.
While presenting the award to the winner, courtesy of SWAN, Chairman of the Kaduna state chapter of the Association, Mr. Benjamin Isiah, has congratulated him and his club for the victory.
In his response, winner of the award, Ndassi Dennis Kadiang, thanked Almighty Allah for the victory and has dedicated the award to his team mates, technical crew and the entire family of the club.
