Kano state Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has directed the state Deputy Governor, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, to liase with the state cabinet office to provide a new Coaster bus to Kano Pillars FC before the team comes back from Uyo, where they are scheduled to honour the Match Day 13 of the 2020/21 Nigeria Professional Football League season fixture against Dakkada FC on Sunday.
The Governor gave the directives while receiving players and officials of the club at Kano state governor’s lodge in kaduna on Thursday night.
He said the measure become necessary in order to solve the lingering car crisis the team is facing in the ongoing season.
It could be recall that the team bus had developed a series of mechanical faults while they are going for away matches.
The governor, also said Kano state government has approved the club 2021 fiscal year budget and assured that his administration will continue to support the team morally and financially.
He commended the players of the team for their dedication and performances so far in the ongoing 2020/2021 NPFL season which they are currently on top of the log with 23 points from 12 matches.
He said, the government and good people of Kano state have confidence in the team and urged them to redoubled their efforts in order to win the league for the good people of the state.
On playing away from the Pyramid city, governor Ganduje lament that even though the team is doing well, they are more or less playing both their home and away matches away from home.
“To me, you are playing both your home and away matches as away games because you are playing your home matches in kaduna and you are doing well and we hope you will sustain the tempo,” the governor said.
He boasted that the excellent results the team is getting in Kaduna, as an adopted home could have been more than that if they were playing in their home ground, Sani Abacha stadium, Kano.
According to him, the Sai Masu Gida are now playing no home no away and their performance is commendable.
On the leadership style of the club chairman, Alhaji Surajo Shuaibu aka Jambul……..
Dr. Ganduje appreciate how the young and energetic chairman of the club, Alhaji Surajo Shaaibu Jambul is doing to move the Pride of Kano forward.
Earlier, Alhaji Surajo Jambul, informed the governor that the club have so far played 12 matches in the league. Out of those 12, they won 7, drawn 2 and loss 3.
He assured that they would not relent on their quest to win the league at the end of the season as they are gradually distancing themselves to the other teams at the top.
He commended the governor and his deputy for their untiring support and assured that the players and officials of the team would continued to remain good Ambassadors to the government and good people of Kano state anywhere they found themselves.
“Your Excellency, we do not have enough words to thank you for your concern to the team but to prayed to Almighty Allah to continue guiding you, government and good people of Kano state,” emotionally Jambul said.
He explained that the team decided to visit the governor in order to thanked him for his good gestures and to appealed for more support considering the task ahead.
Media officer of the club, Rilwanu Idris Malikawa, said, Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje rounded up the meeting with the presentation of a cash gift worth two million Naira as personal reward to the players as well as to motivates the them ahead of their trip to Uyo.
The four-time Nigeria Professional Football League champions will lock horns with Dakkada FC of Akwa Ibom on Sunday in the Match Day 13 of the ongoing season.
