Four-time Nigeria Professional Football League champions, Kano Pillars FC, surrendered a two first-half goals to loss 3-2 against Dakkada in the Match Day 13 of the 2020/21 NPFL season.

The Sai Masu Gida took the lead as early as the 10th minute of the encounter through Rabiu Ali’s spot kick after Dakkada’s defender was adjudged to have touched the ball in the 18-yard box.

Before the half-hour mark, the Pride of Kano stretched their lead in the evening to 2-0 courtesy of Gerome Henchong. The defender slotted home for his first goal for the club after he received a fine pass from Auwalu Ali Malam.

However, Christian Ekong reduced the deficit for the home side to 2-1 in the 38th minute of the game.

The first 45 minutes ended with Pillars leading by two goals to one.

After the restart, Dakkada level the scores through Philips Archibong in the 48th minutes before substitute, Isaac George completed a remarkable comeback for the home side 14 minutes before the final whistle.

All efforts made by the Aiteo cup holders to come back into the game prove abortive as the game ended 3-2 in favour of the home side.

Shortly after the match, technical adviser of Kano Pillars FC, Mr. Emmanuel Lionel Soccoia, expressed dismay with the outcome of the result.

He said, his players started the game very well but failed to convert their chances early in the first-half.
