Kano Pillars FC energetic forward, Abbas Rabiu, has expressed his appreciation to the teeming fans of the club for standing behind him and the sympathy they shown to him when he was given the matching orders against Rivers Utd in the Match Day 6 of the 2020/21 Nigeria Professional Football League season.
Although, the Sai Masu Gida won the encounter by a goal to nil courtesy of Nwagua Nyima, Abbas Rabiu has asked for forgiveness from his team mates, technical crew and fans of the club for his unruly behaviour that got him sent off at 55th minute of the match for two bookable offense.
The League Management Company of Nigeria, LMC, has since communicated to the club that Abbas would missed the Match Day 7 clash away to Akwa Utd, which the Sai Masu Gida lost by a goal to nil.
After the elapsing of his one match ban, the forward was full of remorse and happiness and has vowed not to repeat the same mistake again.
He described the incident as a will of God and has since accepted it in good faith.
“Let me once again apologize to the club fans on what happened and I assured them that it would never happen again,” remorseful Abbas said.
When asked about the match against Jigawa Golden Stars on Wednesday…….. Abbas said he and his team mates are highly motivated and would approach the game just like any other one and has described it as a normal encounter as against the ‘local derby’ title given to it by a cross-section of football followers.
With this development, Abbas Rabiu is in contention to starts against Jigawa Golden Stars on Wednesday at the Ahmadu Bello stadium, Kaduna.
