The Kano State Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment in providing solid security before, during and after all Kano Pillars FC home matches in the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, and other sporting activities in the state.
This was disclosed by the state’s Police Commissioner, Alhaji Habu Sani while receiving the chairman of Kano Pillars FC, Alhaji Surajo Shaaibu Yahaya Jambul in his office at Bompai Quarters on Saturday.
The Commissioner said the Police would not compromise in any move that would cause violence on or off the pitch during any sporting activities in the state.
He expressed his delight for the visit and assured the Sai Masu Gida that his door will remain open to whenever the need arises.
He explained the significance of sports particularly football as a tool in fighting against social vices among the youths and promoting national unity.
He urged the management and players of the team to tightening their belts for the challenges ahead of them in the ongoing season and promised that he will be in the stand when the National champions files out against MFM FC on Sunday in the Match Day 20 of the ongoing 2019/2020 Nigeria Professional Football League Season.
Earlier, chairman of Kano Pillars FC, Alhaji Surajo Shaaibu Jambul has said that he visited the commissioner to introduce himself and expressed his appreciation for the support and cooperation the Command has been given to the club all the time and hope the tempo would be sustain.
Alhaji Surajo was during the visit accompanied by the Secretary of the club, Sayyadi Abdullahi and other backroom staff of the four-time NPFL Champions.
The Coach Jugunu tutored side would trade tackles with Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministry on Sunday evening at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata with the hope of taking revenge of their 1-3 loss to the Lagos base side in the reverse fixture last week Sunday.
