Kano Police Command pledged to reaffirmed its determination in maintaining peace and security whenever Kano Pillars Football Club is playing at home.
This was contained in a Press Release signed by the Media officer of the former Nigeria Professional Football League Champions, Rulwanu Idris Malikawa and made available to www.kano-pillars.com.
Malikawa disclosed that the Commissioner of the command, Alhaji Ahmad Illiyasu made this remark when he received the Chairman of the club Alhaji Surajo Shaaibu Yahaya in his office on Thursday in Kano.
The Commissioner described Sports particularly, Football as an avenue that is unifying the country and it is necessary to each and every stakeholder to give their support in that direction.
Alhaji Ahmad Illiyasu congratulated the Chairman and commend him for his foresight to give security priority during his tenure.
He said his door will remain open whenever the need arises.
The commissioner said the visit give him the confidence the newly Chairman would uplift the club to the great height.
He said the command had put all machineries on the ground for a hitch free match on Saturday against Asante Kotoko of Ghana in the first leg clash in the 2019/2020 CAF Champions League.
Earlier, Chairman of the Club, Alhaji Surajo Shaaibu Yahaya said he was in the Commissioner’s office to introduce himself and solicit his support and co operation of the success of his assignment.
Alhaji Surajo thanked the police for the role they are playing in maintaining law and order whenever the ‘Sai Masu Gida’ are playing and urged them to sustain the tempo.
