Kano Pillars FC player Kenneth Amia was attacked by suspected thugs at Badawa quarter in Kano city in the early hours of Monday morning.
Amia who joined the Sai Masu Gida from fellow NPFL side, Lobi Stars before the start of the current season was attacked in a Keke Napep on his way to the club Secretariat at around 6:00am on Monday ahead of their trip to Umuahia to honour their Match Day 13 against Abia Warriors FC on Wednesday.
The attacking midfielder confirmed the authenticity of the story to www.kano-pillars.com that the thugs attacked him with a knife and threatened his life and thereby collected all his belongings that includes phones and travelling bag.
The dazzling attacker therefore thanked Almighty God that nothing happened to him during the incident.
While commenting on the issue, spokesman of the club, Rilwanu Idris Malikawa said the club was shocked when the player arrived the Secretariat without anything on his hands.
“Upon observing Amia was not in office at the time we planned to start the journey then we suspected that something is going wrong somewhere because lateness is not his attitude in all our programmes, Malikawa added.
The seasoned Journalist said the management of the club has since reported the matter to the Chief security officer of the club, CSP Mansur Idris for necessary action and investigation.
However, Kenneth Amia has since joined the team for the trip and pledged to give his best for the success of the club on Wednesday’s crunch encounter and submitted all what happened to God.
Reacting on behalf of the players, captain of the team Rabi’u Ali sympathized with him and prayed to Almighty Allah to protect future occurrence to him and to the entire Pillars family.
The Sai Masu Gida drew 1-1 to Warri Wolves on Sunday thereby maintaining their unbeaten record in the league to seven matches.
