Nigeria Giants, Kano Pillars FC has unveiled French tactician, Mr. Emanuel Soccoia Lionel as the new technical adviser for the four-time Nigeria Professional League champions ahead of the 2020/2021 football season.
Soccoia Lionel, whose last coaching job was at the South African side, Black Leopard has put pen to paper on a one year contract with the Aiteo cup holders.
The former Cotonsport of Cameroon coach is expected to guide the Sai Masu Gida to the much awaited 2020/2021 Nigeria Professional Football League triumph as well as a good outing at the CAF Confederation cup slated to start in November.
During the unveiling, Soccoia Lionel has described Kano Pillars FC as one of the top teams in Africa and hoped to win a title with the Nigeria Giants.
“I come here because Kano Pillars is a big team in Africa and I want to win with Kano Pillars,” Mr. Lionel concluded.
Earlier, the Chairman of the club, Alhaji Surajo Shuaibu Yahaya Jambul, has described the unveiling as historic and a new chapter in the history of the club.
He said that Mr. Soccoia Lionel knows the African terrain very well and urged him to use his wealth of experience in moving the club to the promise land.
He thanked the Kano state Government, under the leadership of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for giving all the necessary support towards the success of the club.
He finally called on the technical team previously led by Ibrahim A. Musa to give the new gaffer the maximum support for the success of the club.
Kano Pillars main target is reclaiming back the Nigeria Professional Football League title that has eluded them for a number of seasons now and will be aiming to reach at least, the semi finals of the 2020/21 CAF Confederation cup.
