Kano Pillars FC begun preparation for the 2020/21 Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, season tentatively sets aside to start on the 15th of November, 2020 with a sound victory over Gusau Academy.
The match which was played at the Bukavu Barrack’s football field saw the Sai Masu Gida carpets their opponent by 3 goals to nil with powerful forward, David Ebuka opened the scoring at the 30th minute mark when he received a fine passed from Nwagua Nyima.
The first half ended 1-0 in favour of the Aiteo cup holders as both sides traded some good soccer artistry.
David Ebuka completed his brace in the 53rd minutes to make it 2-0 for the host. The big striker rounded the goalkeeper of the visiting team before slotting home for his second of the evening.
Substitute, Yusuf Seun, makes it 3-0 to the Sai Masu Gida after coming on for Nwagua Nyima ten minutes from the regulation time.
The match eventually ended with Pillars beating their visitors 3-0 comfortably as they are gearing towards the 2020/21 football season.
In a chat with www.kano-pillars.com after the match, Media officer of the four-time Nigeria Professional Football League champions, Rilwanu Idris Malikawa said, the warm up match is part of the club’s preparation ahead of the 2020/21 NPFL season announced to kick off on the 15th November, 2020.
The seasoned journalist said, more friendlies will be organized in order to make the players fits and ready for for the upcoming season.
The pride of Kano will on Saturday make a short trip to Daura to face Damburan Babes in another warp up match.
In another development, the newly appointed technical adviser of the club, Mr. Lionel Emanuel Soccoia will be presented to the players and technical crew on Monday.
The former FC Leopard of South Africa gaffer was unveiled on Thursday in Kano after signing a one year contract with the Nigerian Galacticos.
