Kano Pillars FC received with confidence the draws for this season’s CAF Confederation cup that paired the ‘Sai Masu Gidas’ against Senegalese side, ASC Jaraaf.
This was disclosed by the media officer of the four-time Nigeria Professional Football League champions, NPFL, Rilwanu Idris Malikawa.
The seasoned journalist boasted that the pride of Kano will make the Government, good people of the state and Nigeria football fans proud.
He said, the team is mentally ready for the challenge and will approach all the fixtures accordingly.
He said, since after lifting of the ban on sporting activities nationwide by the federal government of Nigeria, the team is working very hard in the training pitch and have so far played a handful of matches to sharpen the players and prepare them for the task ahead.
“We are not surprised with the draws despite that we did not expect to be engaged with a Senegalese team before the draw but we are ready, Malikawa said.
According to Malikawa, the players would be embarking on a close camping in a yet to be named city within Nigeria in order to prepare well ahead of the opener in Dakar.
In a separate chat with www.kano-pillars.com, players of the club such as talisman, Rabiu Ali, Nwagua Nyima and Amia Kenneth have all expressed their optimism ahead of the opening day fixtures and the NPFL campaign.
The draws indicates that, the Sai Masu Gidas will play away to ASC Jaraaf in Senegal on either 27th or 29th November 2020 before a return leg in Nigeria in a forthnight.
Malikawa further said that the club is banking on the support of the Kano state Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the management of the club and their teeming fans to proper in the 2020/21 football season.
ASC Jaraaf is the most successful Senegalese team in the continent and are playing at the 20,000 capacity, Stade Demba Diop, Dakar.
