Highly motivated Kano Pillars FC players, technical crew and the team of delegation are expected to leave the shores of Nigeria for Dakar, Senegal, today, Thursday 26th November 2020 ahead of the first leg of their CAF Confederation cup clash with ASC Jaraaf.
The team will fly via Malam Aminu Kano International Airport on a chattered flight to Dakar, Senegal Thursday evening.
It could be recalled that the state government, under the leadership of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has settled all the allowances owed by the players and technical crew of the team worth over seven million Naira.
In a dinner organized for the team on Wednesday evening, deputy Governor of the state, Dr. Nasir Yusuf Gawuna has said, the state government has decided to settled all the allowances in order to motivates the players to put in their best for the 2020/21 football season.
The four-time Nigeria Professional Football League champions are expected to go a step further in this season’s CAF club competition after their early ouster at the hands of Ghanaian giants, Asante Kotoko in the last season’s CAF Champions League.
The national champions will lock horns with the Senegalese based side in the first leg on Saturday 28th November 2020 at the 20,000 capacity, Stade Demba Diop
Dakar, Senegal with a return leg to be played in Nigeria in a forthnight.
