Kano Pillars FC sets to extend their unbeaten run to seven matches when they files out against Warri Wolves in the Match Day 12 of the Nigeria Professional Football League on Sunday evening at the famous Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata.

The Sai Masu Gida are enjoying their best moment of the the season since the returned of their talismanic captain, Rabiu Ali Pele after a sluggish start to the season.

The last time Pillars played at home in the league was on Sunday 22nd December 2019 with speed star, Mustapha Salisu scoring the only goal of the encounter in the 89th minute and followed it up with another scintillating performance though, ended in a stalemate draw away to Nasarawa Utd in their reschedule fixture.

If there is any team that is giving the Kano Darlings a tough battle in the league, then that team has to be Warri Wolves.

Yes it has to be Wolves because, in their last five meetings, the National champions have won non, drawn two and lose the other three fixtures.

In their two previous visit to Kano, Wolves have avoided defeat in each of those occasions as follows;

The Wolves have forced Pillars to a 1-1 score on the 27th Sept. 2015.

An the latest one is the 2-2 draw recorded on the 12th of June, 2016.

If we are to go with the above statistics, then Warri Wolves will again be a hard knot to crack but with the fire power at their disposal as well as their recent scoring exploits in the league, the Sai Masu Gida might get it better this time around.

Another encouraging stats that will help the coach Ibrahim Musa Jugunu’s tutored side is….. Pillars have won 12 points since the start of December 2019, that is, one more point than any other side in the league during this period.

On the other hand, Warri Wolves have won two, lost two and drawn one of their previous 5 games in the league.

In the above time frame, the Wolves have not won any game and registered just a single goal in their last two away games in the league.

A 1 nil lost at the hand of league leaders, Plateau Utd in Jos and the other one is the 2-1 lost to Jigawa Golden Stars in their first visit two Kano this season.
