Nigeria Professional Football League outfits, Kano Pillars FC is sets to partner with Portuguese Giants, Sporting Lisbon of Portugal.
This was disclosed by the chairman of the club, Alhaji Surajo Shuaibu Yahaya while receiving a Football Consultant and a Portuguese entrepreneur Mr. Pedro Cunha Baptista in his office on Friday.
Alhaji Surajo said the management of the Sai Masu Gida will study the ideas brought forward before it by the Portuguese Giants and hope the relationship would be mutual for both parties.
He maintained that the four-time NPFL champions is willing to partner with anybody, groups or organization that would help to propel the image of the club globally.
He thanked them for the visit and hope it will poster further relationship between Sporting Lisbon, Kano state and Nigeria Football as a whole.
Earlier, Mr. Pedro Cunha Baptista has said that their visit to Nigeria was purposely to meet Kano Pillars FC management for a partnership on how to help move the club forward both technically and economically as well as the transfer of future World beaters in football from Pillars to Sporting CP.
“Before our coming to Nigeria, we carried out survey about Nigerian Football and its club sides and we found out that Kano Pillars has everything we are looking for most especially their largest fan base as well as their love for Football, Mr. Pedro said.
He said that if the partnership comes to reality, the Sai Masu Gida would have the benefits of selling their players to Europe’s top notch clubs and would help to reduced the financial burden on Government.
The chairman and Mr. Pedro later visited the Permanent Secretary, Kano State Ministry of Youths and Sports, Alhaji Ahmad Sagagi.
